The Smiths Detection Laboratory Scientist Apprenticeship provides the perfect opportunity to join a high performing scientific team, responsible for the development of new products involved in maintaining world class detection and screening technologies that protect people and critical infrastructure. You will be working with exciting technologies and developing the expertise to enable you to grow into a highly capable multi-skilled laboratory scientist whilst gaining a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. This apprenticeship standard is recognised by the Science Council at Registered Scientist (RSci) level.
You will be working as part of a team to provide scientific support and expertise for all areas of Technology department projects, including instrument and experimental design, planning and execution of experiments, analysis of data, modelling, formulation and presentation of conclusions and report writing.
