The Programme


During our two-year operations programme, you will learn about a wide variety of areas that are vital to our success, it spans the logistical, manufacturing and technical processes. You will complete a minimum of four rotations, which may include an overseas assignment in one of our manufacturing centres. Smiths will also support you to gain further qualifications, such as Six Sigma or APIX.


Typical placements include procurement/supply chain, integrated business planning and manufacturing engineering, complimented by commercial rotations such as sales and service.


As well as the programme placements, there will be the opportunity to work on stretch projects to further develop your understanding of our business as well as developing the soft skills you will need to succeed. As part of a Smiths-wide global graduate network, you will get to know our graduates from the different divisions and functions located worldwide to share learning experiences and create a network.


You will be supported by a graduate programme manager throughout the two-year programme to ensure that you reach your potential and have the skills you need to soar in the organisation.


About You


·        A minimum 100 points, 2:1 or GPA 3.5, ideally in a STEM degree discipline

·        Strong interest in operations and business

·        A desire to problem-solve and innovate

·        Committed and able to work in a changing environment

·        Strong relationship skills

·        Self-starter and self-sufficient - will hit the ground running

·        Strong desire to work across a global business
