About the Programme:


The Smiths Detection Internship programme provides the perfect opportunity to join a high performing Engineering team. You will work with exciting technologies, develop expertise enabling you to grow into a highly capable multi-skilled software engineer.

No previous work experience required, but you will already have a good knowledge of C/C++ programming language, an exposure to Unix/Linus OS and a good understanding of Data Structures.


Other requirements are:


·      Good understanding of data structure / algorithms.

·      Good knowledge of Unix / LINUX.

·      Good exposure to C/C++ programming (experience of usingDebuggers / Makefile in assignments would be a bonus)

·      Understanding of Shell / Perl / Python scripting.


About you:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • BE/B.Tech (Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/E&TC, Information Science)


Preferred technical capabilities:


·      Supporting issue analysis and fix activities during test phases, as well as production issue resolution.

·      Ability to design and implement modules in system space.

·      Keep ownership of technical designs, source code, and component test execution to demonstrate alignment to the functional specifications.

·      Performing code reviews and providing suggestions for fixes and improvements.

·      Creating and maintaining tools to validate, unit tests, integration tests and documentation for these components.

·      Delivering projects on-time, within functional and quality spec; all the while communicating clearly with stakeholders.

This is a 6-month internship with a start date in January 2022.
